Too Old for Skydiving?

You need to be 18 years old to skydive in the United States, and only 3 years old to fly in the wind tunnel. But some people wonder if they’re too OLD to skydive… and we’re here to tell you NO! You aren’t too old to skydive! As of August 2019, 103-year-old Kitty Hodges holds the world record for oldest skydiver (tandem).

This past February, Jane Haynes celebrated her 100th birthday at Skydive Arizona by making a tandem skydive. (see photo) There are also numerous active octogenarian solo skydivers – so many that they have their own club – the JOES (Jumpers Over Eighty Society)!

When it comes to skydiving, age is just a number. Don’t let your accumulation of birthdays stop you from considering a leap out of an airplane! Contact our tandem school for more information.
