How to Learn to Skydive?

How long does it take to learn how to skydive? This is a question we get asked all of the time. In order to get a USPA license to skydive solo, you need to fulfill a series of requirements.

The first thing that you will need to do is take a ground school class which will last between 4 to 6 hours. This First Jump Course or FJC for short, will teach you all of the basics. You will learn about the gear, proper body positioning, emergency procedures and how to fly a parachute. We offer this ground school twice a month. Check the schedule here.

In order to get your A-License to be a certified skydiver, you must complete a minimum of 25 skydives. You must also accomplish a series of requirements during each skydive. The average student is able to complete all requirements within the 25 skydives although some do require a repeat jump or two to ensure they are progressing safely. Most students can make 4-5 jumps in a day if the weather allows. This means that the 25 jumps can be completed within a 6 day time frame.

Is it possible to get a skydiving license in one week? The answer is yes. Adventures In Skydiving has a program designed just for this. This program is the A-License Express. We also give free bunkhouse lodging to the students who are here specifically to get their skydiving license, that way they can plan on staying on our property for the week while they are learning.
