Summer Skydiving in Arizona: How to Plan For Your Jump

Arizona summer has its own rhythm. The mornings start bright, the desert warms quickly, and the best adventures usually begin early in the day. If skydiving is on your summer bucket list, a little planning can help you make the most of your time at Skydive Arizona.

Summer skydiving in Eloy takes preparation and knowing what to expect when you visit the drop zone. Here’s how to plan for a summer tandem at Skydive Arizona.

Summer Skydiving in Arizona

There is no hiding the fact that Arizona gets hot in the summer. Locals know it, visitors expect it, and if you are planning an outdoor adventure, you should keep it in mind. Summer is a great time to check something big off your bucket list; you just have to plan around the best part of the day.

At Skydive Arizona, summer operations are built around the desert environment. The team keeps an eye on current conditions, including wind and visibility. Like any weather-dependent activity, skydiving depends on what the day brings, which is why summer tandem bookings are scheduled in the morning to make the most of the cooler part of the day.

If you are a first-time tandem student, your best plan is simple: choose an available reservation, arrive prepared with plenty of water to drink, and take advantage of the many shaded and air conditioned areas we have when you’re not in the sky.

Ready to plan around the best part of the day?

On the 4th of July, many chose to tandem skydive with us to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Summer days like this are a reminder that skydiving can be a memorable way to mark a holiday or a special day to remember.

Morning Skydives Are the Summer Move

If you are planning a summer tandem skydive in Arizona, morning is your friend.

Early in the day, temperatures are usually more comfortable than they are in the afternoon. That is why Skydive Arizona offers summer tandem bookings in the morning, so every summer reservation is planned around the coolest part of the day. The overall experience can feel better for students, spectators, instructors, and the team working across the drop zone.

Skydive Arizona summer adventures start early. A morning skydive lets you check the biggest thing off your bucket list before the afternoon heat takes over.

What to Know Before Booking a Summer Tandem

If you are thinking about skydiving during Arizona’s summer, a little planning goes a long way.

The day of your jump, drink water before you arrive. Wear comfortable warm-weather clothing. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything you may want while waiting on the ground. If friends or family are coming to watch, remind them to plan for the heat too.

Skydive Arizona has several ways to stay more comfortable while you are on site. There is a water refill station, plenty of shaded areas, and an air-conditioned School building. The Bent Prop Saloon & Cookery is air-conditioned, making it a great place to stop for cold drinks and food before or after your jump.

On the ride to altitude, you may get a little natural aircraft “air conditioning” when the door is open. After your jump, you are welcome to cool off in the pool. Just remember that the pool area is not shaded, so sunscreen is a good idea.

Keep an eye on communication from the drop zone. Weather-dependent activities sometimes require patience, and the team will work with the conditions as they develop.

You can Always Jump Later

Summer can still be the right time to say yes to skydiving, even if you would rather jump later in the year. You can book now and plan your jump for a future date.

A Skydive Arizona gift certificate lets you gift the experience and plan the jump for a future date. That makes it a strong option for birthdays, anniversaries, group gifts, bucket-list surprises, or anyone who wants to experience freefall as the weather cools.

It is also a great way to keep the adventure on the calendar without rushing the timing.

Keep the Sky on Your Summer List

Summer in Arizona gives you the best reason to start the day early. With the right timing and a smart plan, summer skydiving can become one of the best parts of your desert summer story.
