Indoor skydiving is the most accessible way to experience human flight, no airplane required. At Skydive Arizona, you can find SkyVenture Arizona, an indoor wind tunnel that lets you float on a powerful column of air, guided by experienced instructors. The best part?
You learn to fly at one of the busiest drop zones in the world.
What Is Indoor Skydiving?
When you step onto our drop zone in Eloy, you’ll hear the steady hum of aircraft climbing. You’ll see parachutes opening against a wide desert sky. And just off to the side, a strange-looking building.
Step inside and you’ll find a vertical column of wind, powerful enough to lift a human body into flight, and some of the most experienced skydivers in the world actively training.

Indoor skydiving at SkyVenture Arizona is a real human flight experience powered by air. You’re flying your body in a controlled column of wind, learning the same fundamentals skydivers use in freefall. Except you’re not 13,000 feet above the ground, you’re just a few feet above a net, with an instructor guiding you through every movement.
SkyVenture is an essential part of the Skydive Arizona experience.
How It Works
SkyVenture Arizona is a vertical wind tunnel powered by four 400-horsepower fans above the flight chamber. These fans pull air upward, creating a smooth, controlled column of airflow that can reach speeds up to 150 mph.
That airflow is what holds you up.
After a short training session, you’ll suit up with a helmet, goggles, and flight suit, then step into the spectator area. When it’s your turn, you move to the doorway, lean forward, and let the wind take over.
Within seconds, you’re flying.
There’s no falling sensation. Just steady lift. The air itself carries you.
Your instructor stays within arm’s reach the entire time, making small adjustments to your body position, helping you find balance in the wind.
How Indoor Skydiving Feels
The first thing you notice is the pressure of the air. It’s strong, but not overwhelming. Then your body lifts, and for a moment, your brain tries to catch up with what’s happening.
You’re flying.
There’s a rhythm to it. Small movements create big changes. Relax and you settle into the wind. Turn your shoulders and your body follows. Adjust your arms and legs, and you start to move through it.
At some point, you stop thinking about it and just start feeling it.
As if your body was made for this.

Why Indoor Skydiving?
For some, indoor skydiving is a first taste of flight. For others, it’s a place to train, refine, and push limits. The same column of air serves two completely different paths, and both start the same way: stepping into the wind and experiencing human flight in a controlled setting.
For Non-Skydivers
Not everyone is ready to step out of an airplane at 13,000 feet. But most people have wondered what it feels like to fly.
Indoor skydiving bridges that gap.
There’s no jump at altitude and no pressure to commit to a full skydive. You’re flying just a few feet above the net, guided the entire time by a certified instructor. It’s approachable, controlled, and surprisingly accessible, even for first-timers.
Kids as young as three can fly. Families and friends come out together for birthday parties, group events, and team-building days. It’s an inclusive experience and a different way to spend a weekend.
And the best part? You don’t need any experience. Just show up with a pair of sneakers and the willingness to try something new.

Indoor Skydiving For Skydivers and Future Skydivers
If you’ve spent any time around the sport, you already know the wind tunnel is where skills are built.
Every minute in the tunnel is roughly equivalent to a skydive from 13,000 feet. But instead of waiting on weather, aircraft, and altitude, you can fly continuously, making adjustments in real time.
It’s the most efficient way to learn body flight.
For students working toward their license, it accelerates progression. For experienced jumpers, it’s where you refine advanced skills like head-down flying, transitions, and precision control.
At Skydive Arizona, the transition from tunnel to sky is immediate. You can work on a skill in the tunnel and take it to altitude the same day.
That’s something very few places in the world can offer.
Where Is the Best Place to Indoor Skydive near Phoenix & Tucson?
If you’re in Phoenix, Tucson, or anywhere in Arizona, you’ve probably seen indoor skydiving advertised close to home. For locals, it’s a quick drive to Eloy.
SkyVenture Arizona is part of something much bigger. It’s built into one of the most established skydiving centers in the world. When you come out to Eloy, you’re stepping into a working drop zone with a culture that’s been evolving since 1978.
You’ll watch aircraft cycling overhead. See tandem students landing for the first time. Sit in the spectator area as canopies fill the sky. Grab lunch at the Bent Prop and talk about your flight while skydivers pack their parachutes next to you.
It’s an immersive experience you won’t get anywhere else.
Where other facilities focus only on the tunnel, SkyVenture connects that experience to the entire world of skydiving. You’re surrounded by the sport.
And then there’s the tunnel itself.
A 14-foot flying chamber. Powerful airflow. Space to move, progress, and grow. Instructors who are active skydivers, competitors, and part of a global flying community.
SkyVenture is a training ground. If you decide to take the next step and make your first skydive, you’re already in the right place.
