The two weeks surrounding Thanksgiving were very busy here at Skydive Arizona while the Women's Vertical World Record, the Thanksgiving Boogie, and the Square One World Sequential Series were all taking place.
Participants of the Women's Vertical World Record started making practice jumps on Monday November 25th. Practice jumps continued on Tuesday and Wednesday and official record attempts began first thing Thursday morning. Towards the end of the day on Saturday the women succeeded and set a new world record with 63 women flying head down in formation. Congratulations to everyone involved! For more detailed coverage of this event check out SkydiveMag's article.
The Thanksgiving Boogie ran from November 28th to December 1st and featured $21 jumps and load organizers from AXIS Flight School, Arizona Airspeed, and Arizona Arsenal. Evening activities included a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at the Bent Prop on Thursday night, a Wine Tasting with appetizers on Friday night, and a rocking party to celebrate Thanksgiving and the new Women's Vertical World Record on Saturday night.

The Square One World Sequential Series kicked off on Saturday November 30th. This P3 event included approximately 200 participants attempting to break current Large Formation Sequential World Record of 110 set during BJ Worth's annual Kaleidoscope dives at Skydive Deland. The P3 team aimed high with all jumps including over 170 skydivers. The better part of two days was lost to poor weather and unfortunately the group was not able to set a new world record. Photos and video from the events can be viewed at skydivingphotography.com.

Plenty of hard work went into the preparations and execution of these events at Skydive Arizona. Many thanks to all our valuable staff members who worked behind the scenes so all these events could run smoothly.
