Bulletin One

Aims of the competition:

1. To determine the 2005 World Cup Champions in the following events:

FS: 4-way, 4-way Female, 8-way

CF: 4-way Rotation, 4-way Sequential, 2-way Sequential CF

AE: Freefly, Male and Female Freestyle, Male and Female Skysurf

2. To determine the world standings of the competing teams.

3. To promote and develop Formation Skydiving, Canopy Formation skydiving, and Artistic Events.

4. To exchange ideas and strengthen friendly relations between skydivers, judges, and support personnel of all nations.

5. To allow participants to share and exchange experience, knowledge, and information.

6. To improve judging methods and practices.

7. To establish new world records in competition.FAI authority

The 2005 World Cups of Formation Skydiving, Canopy Formations, and Artistic events will be conducted under the authority granted by the FAI, according to the regulations of the Sporting Code of the FAI, General Section and Section 5, as approved by the International Parachuting Commission and validated by the FAI.

Date and place
The site of the 2005 World Cups is Eloy, Arizona, USA. Training facilities and competition aircraft are available now through the beginning of competition.

CF and FS: Judges Arrive 21 October. Judge’s Conference, teams arrive 22 October. Official Practice 23 October. Competition, 24 – 29 October. Departure, 30 October.

AE:
Judges arrive 21 October. Judge’s Conference, teams arrive 22 October. Official Practice 23 October. Competition, 24 – 28 October. Departure, 30 October.The last competition jump for FS and CF will take place no later than 14:00 hours on 29 October. The last competition jump for AE will take place no later than sunset on 28 October.

Provisional and definite entry dates
Provisional entries must be received by the organizer by August 10, 75 days before the start of competition. Official must be received by 8 September.

Entry fees per person
Formation Skydiving: one event, $470. Two events, $650.
Canopy Formations: one event, $480. Two events, $590. Three events, $700.
Artistic Events: one event, $490. Two events, $615.

Note: Competitors may enter any or all events within a single discipline but may not enter in more than one discipline. Example: enter as performer in Freefly and camera flyer in Skysurf, but not as performer in Freefly and camera flyer in FS.


Accompanying personnel: $125.
Late Entry Fee: $100.
Protest fee: a fee of $50 must accompany each protest.

Composition of Delegations

Each delegation may comprise of:
• 1 Head of Delegation
• 1 Team Manager for each discipline
• 1 Team Coach for each discipline
• 1 Interpreter
Accompanying personnel
Up to three teams per event. In 2-way CF, up to four teams.

Aircraft
All events will use DeHavilland Twin Otters with an airspeed of 85 knots plus or minus five knots.

Meteorological Conditions
The average daytime high temperature Day – 28C; Night – 9C;
DZ Elevation – 458 meters (1400 feet)


Number of rounds
In FS, the meet will consist of 10 rounds in each event. One round is the minimum to complete the meet.

In CF, the meet will consist of 8 rounds in each event. One round is the minimum to complete the meet.

In AE, the meet will consist of 7 rounds in each event. One round is the minimum to complete the meet.

Determination of World Cup Winners; Medals and Diplomas


Winners are the teams who:

a) Where only one round is completed, have the best score for that round, or
b) Where more than one round is completed, have the best score in the completed rounds. Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place teams in each event.
All competitors will receive a diploma recognizing their participation in the 2005 World Cups of FS, CF, and AE.

Special Information
Prices do not include transportation, lodging or food. All teams will be responsible for procuring transportation, lodging and food.
Hundreds of hotel rooms are available within a twenty minute drive and food service will be available at the competition site. Bulletin 2 will include detailed information on area lodging opportunities.Competitors may enter multiple events within their discipline (example, CF Rotation and CF 2-way Sequential) but may not cross disciplines (example, no cross from AE to FS.)
